Brandon's First Snow Day!

Yes, I said it. A snow day in Lancaster. And not just a little bit of snow, we got dumped on! We can only post so many pics so the ones we posted are of when it was just snowing for a few hours. If you come visit us then maybe we'll show you the other pics or maybe we'll just post them later. Anyway, Bubba loved the snow. He kept saying "SNOW!" over and over and trying to catch some in his mouth( I taught him that). If it was up to him he would of been outside all day. I kept him out as long as I could but trying to avoid getting him sick I had to bring him inside eventually. Well as you can imagine he had a cow. So later on we went outside and we built a snowman. Well snow/mudd man. We had tons of fun and it made me feel homesick for Mammoth but thankful that we got snow for the Christmas season and for my little Bubba.

We haven't posted since May? Wow.

So there has been a lot going on recently, maybe that is why we have been too busy to blog on here. We finally were able to buy a house! We love it. It will take a lot of time to finish fixing it up of course. We've been in the house for over a month now, and I only have the kitchen painted. It's not even done yet because we have high ceilings and I can't reach the very corner yet. But what is done looks good.

We've been able to have family visit a couple of times, and it was nice for them to have their own room. Oceanbaby's cousins and brothers came over last weekend, and we all figured it would be fun to do some grappling and kick boxing. Well...it was fun, but a week later I still feel it. My ankle is swollen up and bruised really badly, but it was worth it.

I started training at a gym called "Knuckle Up" yesterday. They teach Kickboxing and Jiu Jitsu, and MMA classes. I can't move my left leg today because all I did for an hour straight is drill takedowns. It was a great workout and can't wait to go back.

Oceanbaby and I got a dog, had him for a couple weeks, and then sold him. He was a 10 month old Golden Retreiver. He was sweet and all, but tore up the back yard, ripped wires out of the sprinkler system, and destroyed our hose. He usually was great with our son, but would get to excited and started knocking him over, so we decided we didn't have time to train him, and sold him to someone who will be a great owner for him.

I will post pictures of the house as we fix it up....so don't hold your breath.

Continued from last blog

We also went to my brother Asa's baccaloriate. I probably completley destoyed the spelling of that word but oh well. It's a ceremony his church has every year to honor the high school graduates. You can tell Brandon is so thrilled to take this picture. Also here is a video of Jelly Belly in his new shoes for the first time. He does look a little bit like a mini woodsman. In this video he reminds me of Forrest Gump in his "special shoes". The other pic is just Bubba and Daddio hanging out at the park trying to climb fences again.

Just had to add a few things to our blog. Last weekend we went to the beach with my brothers, sis, and my nephew. Kickboxer didn't get to go because he had to go back to work. La-loser. Just kidding. Anyway, we had a blast.

The Offer Was Made...

So a few things happened within the last three weeks that are worth blogging about. Three weeks ago we went to a local fight promotion called Chaos In The Cage. It was here at our local fairgrounds. No one I knew was fighting, but they had a special guest named Joe Stevenson. He is a UFC fighter. So we went to meet him and check out some of the local talent. I wasn't too impressed for the most part. A couple of the fighters were pretty good though. Joe Stevenson was really awesome and we were able to get a picture taken with him. We also met Herb Dean and Larry Landless who are two officials that ref for the UFC. Overall it was a really good time.

I've been able to do some more grappling and sparring recently. At Muay Thai on Friday I sparred a guy for three rounds. He told me he hadn't sparred in a few months so I told him we'd take it really easy. That was the plan anyway. Then one of the boxing coaches and Pan (my Kru), came to watch and were egging us on. So the guy popped me square in the face. It was a nice shot, but didn't hurt too much. So I decided to turn it up as well. So it started escalating of course. I started jabbing the guy out and hit him with a couple of hooks. Then I started hitting some leg kicks and knocked the guy down a couple of times. It was fun!

Oceanbaby got a pink 8GB ipod nano this week. We have been converting all of our music to itunes and getting tons of music put on there. She is really excited because we can buy an arm band for her so that it is easy to use at the gym. Her most recent MP3 player did not have an arm band or anything like that, so it made it hard to carry around. We are also planning on getting a stereo in the jeep that she can plug the ipod into so we can eliminate the giant CD case.

And lastly, we put an offer on a house! We love this place and we could afford it too! We are hoping they accept our offer and that everything can go through. This house has been in and out of escrow with other buyers and we have had our eyes on it for a while. It fell out of escrow again, so we jumped on it and made an offer. Se we are keeping our fingers crossed. We'll keep you updated!

We don't have much to blog. Kickboxer's legs are really sore from going to Muay Thai two days in a row. He sparred a really short guy and knocked the poor guy out of the ring. Kickboxer felt really bad. Right now I'm not really enjoying work so much. Our first day on the phones was last Tuesday. We're expected to know everything when we're not even trained properly. So thats a lot of fun. Other than that everything is great. Here is a video of Bubba a couple of weeks ago eating a banana. Or should a say inhaling a banana.

So here is the rest of the previous blog. It only took two days, but better late than never. So it was a crazy week. We acquired a new bed last week. An Eastern King Sleep Number Bed. It's a huge improvement from the rock we used to sleep on. It was my birthday on Sunday, and we celebrated on Saturday. We went to Chili's and Mulligans. Mulligans is a family fun place with arcades and all that. Oceanbaby and I played two games of air hockey. She won the first, and I won the second. So it's tied up. Next time we go we'll have the tie breaker. We went to the batting cages for a while and then played Laser Tag. Laser Tag was really fun. It was 4 against 5 and my team won. Here are the pictures that were supposed to be in the last blog. Bye!

We haven't posted anything in awhile so we have lots and lots to catch up on. A couple of weeks ago we got to watch my nephew for the whole weekend. It was a blast. My nephew was a little saint and Brandon was....lets just say the opposite. Lil stinker. Well half of it wasn't his fault because he didn't feel well. He was getting over a little cough. But other than that he seemed to be acting a little territorial at times. I don't think he was used to sharing attention for the whole weekend. We played a alot and had a good time. We were sad to see Andrew go home. Here's a couple of videos of the boys hanging out. In one of the videos Andrew is snacking on some fruit and whatever he's dropping Brandon is at his feet picking up and shoveling into his mouth. In true Brandon fashion.

In the other Andrew is feeding me and I accidently mention Mama and he tries to look for her : ( It made me so sad. I felt really bad afterwards but we distracted him and he was fine. The next weekend we went to Bud and Jen's house and hung out for the weekend. Jen and I went out for our spa day and the guys watched the boys. I had to call around to a lot of places to find out info so that wasted a whole lot of our day but we eventually got out the door. We got some sushi and got our nails done first. Then I got my eyebrows waxed but the lady didn't do them right. Oh well. Then we went to get our massages and we went to the wrong address because we had an old phone book. Ughhh! Anyway, we finally got there and it was worth it because it was an awesome massage. The next day I had my brother give Brandon a haircut. This time it was really a big boy haircut. We gave him a little mini mullet before we cut it all the way. After we cut it we realized his hair was much lighter, like a dirty blonde. So cute. We knew that his Uncle Pat would be proud because he looked like a little Marine. There will be the greatest pic ever of Brandon giving me a dirty look while getting his haircut on the second part of the blog. Well there's much more to tell ya'll but I'll let Ian fill you in on the rest. See ya!

Mammoth trip and more...

So a couple of weeks ago we went to one of our favorite places...Mammoth Mountain. Those who went included me (Kickboxer), Oceanbaby, her brothers Asa, Mo, and Jeremy, Jeremy's girl friend Louisa, Ocean baby's cousin Josh and his fiance Jessica. It was the first time Oceanbaby had to be away from Bubba, so it was bitter sweet for her. It was hard enough for me, but I had been away before, so I can't imagine what she was feeling. But she pulled through by calling every few hours and having Aunty Jen send video of him dancing.

We got up there on Friday around 5:00 pm. We all went out to eat at Giovanni's, and shared some pepperoni and sausage pizzas. Yum! After that we went to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, where Oceanbaby got one of her most favorite goodies, the Apple Pie Apple. Then we busted out on the Wii, and I got whooped at boxing....figures. Ocean baby got all Bruce Lee on the game...it was great.

We all got up on Saturday and rented our gear and were really excited to hit the slopes. Well...the slopes hit us instead. All of the mountain was shut down except the Discover Run (which is the Bunny hill for beginners). There were 100 MPH winds at the top of the mountain, so we were getting pelted by snow/ice flurries most of the day. I was able to land a box slide for the first time! Around 1 or 2 o'clock, some of the other runs opened up, but due to the winds and cloud coverage, the snow was pretty icy, and not so fun to board on. Plus Oceanbaby had some new bindings on that kept giving her trouble, so we decided to call it a day a little early.

The next day was sun, and not much wind, with freshly groomed snow. What a blast! We hit a couple of the intermediate runs called Mambo, and Broadway. Then we went to the beginners park where I ate it twice trying to do a box slide. It hurt bad. Then I tried a jump twice. The first time I got about two inches of air and ate it on the landing. The second try I got about 4 inches and landed it! Ocean baby hit the jump got a couple inches of air, and landed it just fine. She was using a different board and bindings, which also made her very happy.

Then we went home to Bubba. He had grown 3 feet, and had a mustache. He said hi, and asked if he could drive home. Not quite of course...but close. He had grown so much over 3 days, and while he was happy to see us, he was happier to keep playing with his cousin.

Also this week Oceanbaby has joined me at my place of work. She works from 6:00 am to 11:00 am Monday through Thursday, and 5:00 am to 10:00 am on Friday's. It's been hard for her to get used to, but it gets a little better every day.

That's all for now, we will do better to post more often!

First haircut and walking adventures

Hey Everyone!

Well it's been awhile since we've blogged. We been a little busy lately. So now that I have a free moment I'll let you guys in on some exciting news. Well, exciting for us anyway. Bubba started walking! He's been taking a couple wobbly steps here and there for the past month and finally a couple weeks ago we saw him taking four steps in a row. And now he is all over the place. He definetley prefers walking to crawling now. It's so adorable! We're so proud of him. Now he's on a new level of adventures. Here is the cutest video of him walking.

For the last week or so we have been trying to give him his first haircut but we struggled to find a good time. So today we gave him his first haircut. He was so good. He just sat there and played with his toys and let me cut his hair. Yes, I cut his hair. I know, scary right? The only hair I have ever cut myself is my own because I'm too cheap. I considered taking him to a professional but I wanted to be the one to cut his hair. At least the first time. So I got a comb and a pair of scissors and went to work. It actually came out really good and really cute. Just a little secret... It was pretty emotional for me so I was a mess the whole time. When ever there is a change like that it just reminds me that he's growing up. I know I'm a silly mommy but I can't help it, he's my life.

Hey...it's Kickboxer here. I started back to kickboxing this week after about a 2 month vacation. I sparred a guy who has been kickboxing for 12 years. He is a cool guy and took it easy on me, and I still left with several bruises and the first welt on my shin in 8 years. Good stuff. I am planning on fighting in a Muay Thai "Smoker" in April. A smoker is a fight with full pads on. Then after that I hope to have my first MMA fight in May. I'll keep you posted.

Well we love you all. Here's some pics of Brandon's first haircut.
