Mud fights and worms

One of the ways that we pass the time 'round here is to get down and dirty with the good ol' outdoors, right in our backyard. We've been having some good mud fights lately. Unfortunatley, I didn't get good pictures because I was too preoccupied with the art of fighting with the mud.

This was the start of the mud fight.

Here they are trying to peg me with mud as I'm taking photos.

Getting rinsed off and playing with water.

Our kids haven't had a lot of opportunties to find worms but one morning we came home from the gym to find a couple of worms hanging out in the front yard. What's funny is Bubba and Lily had no interest holding them and acted kinda of intimidated by them. So I said " I bet Danny will hold one." And sure enough he did.  I love that boy. Anyway, that gave them more than enough motivation.

Look at my lil island boy playing outside barefoot. I love it!

26 weeks

Tomorrow I'll be 26 weeks. Another week and I'll be in my third trimester. Yikes! This is going fast! Feeling good and enjoying my beautiful belly!

I've been making my favorite green juice a lot more lately. Kale, ginger, cucumber, celery, lemon and green apple. Yum. Lily loves it and always wants a cup of her own when I make it. Brandon is another story. He drinks it but has this reaction with every sip.

Placerita Canyon Park

It seems like I'm constantly begging to use our Saturdays to go to the beach or the mountains but last Saturday I got my wish. Kickboxer would love to take me everyday if we had the means to. We took a short drive to Placerita Canyon Park and had a great time going on a family hike. I had a trail in mind that I've been wanting to do that would have been a 6+ mile trek but Kickboxer talked me out of it because we had all three babies and we also weren't too sure if the new sunscreen we got was working well on the kiddos. Regardless, it was a rad day! The trail traverses the creek bed at several spots but unfortunately we didn't get enough rainfall this year and it was dried up. Still a beautiful hike though. I gotta say the best part of our hike was the two beautiful horses that came up behind us. We moved out of their way and sat on a bench so we could take in their beauty. The owner was so friendly and allowed us to pet them and say hello. Their names were Rocky and Willow. They were so sweet! Bubba immediately became buds with Rocky. Before our hike we went to the live animal presentation they held in the Nature Center. We got to see a lot of beautiful animals. One was a barn owl and she was quite special because unlike most owls she kept hinging back her head so she was looking upside down. After our hike we made a stop one of my favorite markets, Whole Foods. My only disappointment was that they didn't have my favorite coconuts ready to go with a straw :( Maybe next time. We did get to have some crazy good lunch and I found one of my favorite desserts on earth. Coconut and mango sorbet!!! I only wish I got enough to stock my freezer with but again till next time. Dan Dan seemed to love it too after the initial shock.

This next video is Kai and Bubba's hiking happy dance.

Daddy's Birthday

My love is another year older and I don't know how he does it, but he each year that passes he gets even more handsome. Kickboxer's good buddy Weldon and his girlfriend Helen came up for his birthday and we all went out for dinner at Gino's. Lilybug gave her first talk in Primary and she did so good! The Primary presidency is constantly telling me how much of a joy she is to have in Primary. And she gets so upset if we can't make it to church. It's easy to see why. She has a group of wonderful leaders in Primary. I love that she loves Primary! Overall, I think Daddy had a good birthday this year. I know that all he really cares about at the end of the day is these little keikis.
