There's a Palauan tradition when it comes to girls. First of all, it's a very special thing to have a girl in my family. Being that women rule Palau, the more girls I have the happier my Edil is (that's Grandma in Palauan). Don't get me wrong. My Edil LOVES all of my kids, including the boys. But again, a very special thing when we have a girl. So the Palauan tradition is, when you have a girl right after they are born you shave their head to make it thicker. When I was born my mom shaved my head and I'm pretty sure her mom did it to her too. Well, for a long time I didn't think I would do it but recentley my brother J.J mentioned that I should shave her head because she kind of had a mullet. He was right! She definatley had a mullet and has had it for a while. Her hair was growing really long in the back and would break off really easy in the front. So I got to thinking about Bubba's hair before his first haircut. And how when after we first cut it the texture changed from being like Kickboxer's hair to my hair. So I thought..what the hay! Hair grows back and she sure could pull off a shaved head. Not only did she pull it off..soon people are gonna be shaving their heads too so they can look as cute as our Lilybug. So here are some before photos.

Musical Palauan Princess
The other day while visiting at my parents house, Lilybug was going through the toy box that my mom has for all the kids and she found this colorful block toy and decided it would work perfectly as a necklace for her. Shortly after my mom and I noticed it looked a lot like palauan money. Anyway, Lilybug would not go home without it. So a couple days later I was doing dishes and I found my talented baby girl on the kitchen floor doing this.
